ASICS is hiring a webmaster

The ASICS Europe digital communications team is hiring: we’re looking fora kick-ass webmaster, someone who can help us maintain the technical quality of our online presence.

As a webmaster, carry out the ASICS and Onitsuka Tiger digital communications strategy for Europe, the Middle-East and Africa, and particularly:

  • maintain the HTML and CSS on our various web sites, email newsletters, and improve the general visual and technical quality of all ASICS online communication (35%)
  • coordination of technical specs for advertising and other delivery of digital material
  • maintenance of online tools such as traffic analytics, survey and polling, email newsletters, social media accounts (not the content), video channels, domain names, etc. as well as maintenance of non-core web sites (asicseurope.com, madeofjapan.com, etc.)
  • support and training of country webmasters, documentation, development and maintenance of content management systems and other operation tools (30%)
  • support of company projects that involve digital communications (intranet, global internal newsletter, etc.)

  • exceptionally, maintain the online product catalogs, in April-May and October-November 2011 (gathering and optimizing the product information for use on the site, the collection update itself, and support countries with that process)

Planning, communication to stakeholders both internal (teammates, other teams) and external (countries, agencies and suppliers), and timely reviews of all activities
Analysis of usage patterns (web analytics), database of consumer information (CRM), industry intelligence, consumer research, reporting
Developing and sharing best practices, valuable examples (both in and outside of the industry), interesting trends, to influence colleagues and key countries (5%)

Results areas

  • KPIs:
    • number of support tickets solved, speed of resolution
    • reduction of the number of incidents in email marketing service
    • improvement of perceived quality of country web sites
    • increased number of digital advertising campaigns delivered, smoother process
  • Make best use of existing resources, both ASICS infrastructure and third-party services, wherever relevant. Focus on obtaining value from current infrastructure before developing new systems. Develop shared usage of infrastructure across Europe.
  • Gather content both from within the company as from external parties such as advertising agencies. Oversee translation when necessary. Oversee content timing and publication. Responsible for achieving projects on time, on schedule, and with adequate quality.
  • Prioritization and independent achievement of own tasks. Participation in team and department activities, including planning, budgeting, reporting.

 

Relation pattern

Internally
  • Report to digital communications manager
  • Solidarity with digital communication team members, both European and country staff. Ability to back up colleagues for everyday activities
  • Service-oriented attitude with all ASICS staff, but also ability to pursue team priorities
Externally
  • Subsidiaries and distributors: advice, coordination, training, support
  • Agencies and suppliers: briefing, coordination, execution
  • In particular, digital ad agencies, media agencies, digital properties: coordinating requirements, ensuring quality

Job requirements

Basic competencies
  • Strong teamwork skills, ability to tackle conflicts in a productive manner

  • Deep familiarity with internet tools and attitudes
Must have
  • HTML and CSS, cross-browser testing, image manipulation, HTML for email
  • Search engine optimization skills
  • JavaScript for user interface manipulation (JQuery), Flash, XML data containers
  • Experience with web analytics, user testing (informal, lab, A/B testing)
Should have
  • Customer contact experience, strict professional behavior, strong empathy
  • Ability to involve and motivate people across organizations
  • Experience with web content creation and maintenance
  • Good written and verbal communication (clear, accurate, complete, actionable) in English
Like to have
  • Long-distance runner, practice of other sports
  • Sense of fashion and style, sneakerhead
  • Fluent in other European languages (esp. German, French, Dutch, Italian, Spanish)
  • Experience with online advertising
